Skateboarding has always been a sport dominated by white cis men, even more so than organized sports. Skateparks are unsupervised spaces dominated by the this male population. Skateparks can often be seen as an unwelcome and even unsafe spaces for the queer community to enter, especially when trying to learn a new and famously difficult sport. QST's mission is to provide a space for LGBTQIA2S+ people which feels safe and inclusive, giving them an opportunity to learn and enjoy skateboarding and skateboarding culture where otherwise would not have been possible.
